Russian folk dancer and choreographer Vitaly Verterich was born in 1967 in Sevastopol, Ukraine.
He has graduated from "The Kiev Ballet School" (1986) and from "The Moscow State Academy of The Arts" in 1992.
After performing as Principal Dancer with Russian National Folk Dance Company “Beriozka” for four years, he joined Russian Chamber Ballet Theatre “MOSCOW (MASKVA),” where he danced solo roles in both classical and contemporary ballets.
At the same time, Mr. Verterich was often invited to perform as guest artist with "The Bolshoi Theatre", "The Kirov Ballet", and other Russian and international companies.
In 1998, Mr. Verterich was offered the position of Principal Dancer with the Moscow Folk Ballet in the world’s hottest show that year - “Riverdance the Show” - created by Michael Flatley.
After two years of intense touring in Europe, Australia, Canada, and America, the show took over the Gershwin Theatre on Broadway.

It was renamed “Riverdance on Broadway” and Mr. Verterich accepted the position of Principal Dancer. Mr. Verterich is performing with the New Jersey Ballet and as the choreographer with Brooklyn based folk dance ensemble Barynya.

provided music for coctail hour and thirty minute music and dance program during the dinner. "Barynya" performed popular Russian Gypsy pieces: "Two Guitars", "Kay One", "Vingerka", "3 lines", Russian favorite balalaika arrangement "The Moon is shining brightly" and Cossack song and dance "Varen'ka"

Танцовщик Виталий Вертерич родился в 1967 году в Севастополе. закончил Киевскую балетную академию (1986), Московский Государственный
институт культуры (1992). 4 года был солистом ансамбля Берёзка, танцевал в Московском Балете, Большом и Кировском театрах, солировал в знаменитом Бродвейском шоу "РИВЕРДЕНС".
C 2003 года работает по совместительству хореографом и танцовщиком в бруклинском фольклорном ансамбле Барыня.

RUSSIAN DANCE
First official record of Russian dancing is related to year 907 when Great Russian Prince Oleg (Vechshiy Oleg) celebrated his victory over Greeks in Kiev. During the Gala Dinner 16 male dancers dressed as bears and four bears dressed as Russian dancers performed for the guests. After the dinner was over Great Prince commanded to release the bears into the wild and to execute all the dancers.
As it became clear later on, Vechshiy Oleg, who was purblind, has mistaken the dancers for the ambassadors from the Northern Tribes (Severyane) who owned him a few hundred skins of marten - Russian tiger-cat...
