Meliza
A model, actress and life-long dancer, feels that there's nothing more special than making people smile. Meliza loves to do this, by sharing her love of belly dancing. In her performances, she is able to connect with her audience and share the joy of this beautiful art form. "Belly dance is a dance with so much passion and happiness, its made for all audiences."
Having started her dance training of ballet and tap at the age of five, then later jazz and hip hop, Meliza understands the type of discipline it takes to be a successful artist with a strong passion. Because she was introduced to dance at such an early age it has helped her in various body awareness types of activities; such as, martial arts training, yoga practice and pilates sessions.
Meliza is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and has been able to use her dance and performance experience in various music videos, national commercials, television shows and films.
Of mexican heritage, Meliza still seems to make belly dancing so natural to her and something she definitely identifies with. "The beauty of dance is embedded in your soul and never leaves you."
Meliza would like to say, "Thanks Mom, because all this couldn't have started if she didn't think I was too shy, and needed dance classes to bring me out of my shell. So it all began ... I will always dance" !
Marizol
Marizol discovered belly dancing in the Summer of 2001. She quickly became very dedicated student of every level of belly dance, from the history of the dance to its most contemporary styling, from folkloric to fusion, from the music in all its forms to the traditional costuming & makeup, from teaching it to the glorious performance of belly dance itself! Her firm grounding in Egyptian style of Arabic dance would be the foundation she built on forever. Six years as a principal dancer in two dance troupes.
In Spring of 2008, with 7 years of technical dance training under her "belt", Marizol started her own company with partner Meliza. Today, Marizol is proud to be one of the first group of professional dancers to offer a minimum of four styles of dance training to the general public. She's also proud to have a process that offers students a way to "bring sexy back into their lives." Her advantage is that she keeps current with dance skills by staying abreast of all the current trends & new innovations and generously imparts this knowledge to her students.
Never one to let the dance stop with her, Marizol acts as an educator; realizing the value of her knowledge, she subscribes wholly to the belief that her talents mean nothing if she cannot share them with others. Utilizing the anatomy of movement, Marizol taught full-time for 2 years in Laguna Niguel. She's proud to produce fine dancers with similar missions to uplift the art to the highest standard.

FAQ
Often times we are asked what is the proper etiquette in hiring belly dancers for their events. Below are the frequently asked questions.
How long are bellydance shows?
Bellydance shows are booked in 30 minute increments. You can arrange to have longer shows if you want and additional time can be negotiated for "meet-&-greet" type of events and photo opportunities.

What's included in a bellydance show?
In a basic bellydance show, exciting choreographed routines are performed and include various props (i.e. veil, candles, cane, finger cymbals, isis wings etc.) Audience instruction and participation is included if desired.

What types of events hire bellydancers?
We have performed for many different types of occasions. We have performed in the hottest night clubs and elegant restaurants, weddings (Arabic and American...even Vietnamese!), birthday parties, anniversaries, retirement parties, grand openings, corporate events, children's parties, cultural events, and many many more.

Do you do bachelor parties?
NO! Under no circumstance do we perform at bachelor parties or at parties that are all male. We however, do BACHELORETTE parties. I can arrange to do a performance for the bride and her bridesmaids and then teach a class for all the girls to learn to bellydance. It's a break from the normal "take the bride-to-be to the club" and everyone loves it!

Is tipping required and what is the proper way to tip?
Tipping is not required but it is greatly appreciated. It is a way of expressing appreciation for the dancer. In Arabic custom, the "tipper" will hold the money in his/her hand and fan it over the dancers head and then let it go to "shower" over her. We do not accept tips in the bra area but the tips in our hip belt are acceptable. The dancer will usually let you know where it is acceptable to tip her.

Can I get up and dance with the dancer during her performance?
Usually the dancer has a set show with choreography and interruptions like that are not encouraged. Towards the end of my set, we like to invite people up to dance with me. If your belly dancer does this, feel free to dance with her or decline if you don't. But please be respectful and "bellydance" with her. Do not bump and grind on her, grab her, touch her, be vulgar, or try to out-dance her. It's not MTV Spring Break and you could get hurt. ;-)

Do you accept credit cards?
We can accept credit card payments through Pay Pal, money orders, checks or cash. Payment arrangements will be detailed in your Performance Agreement.

Can you perform tonight?
Sometimes we can accomodate last minute requests but we am very busy and usually booked about 6 weeks in advance. Please try to plan ahead and give us as much notice as possible. This will increase your odds of us being available for your event.
Is hiring a bellydancer expensive?
Bellydancer's are not any more expensive than a clown, a band, or a DJ. No matter what happens at your party or event, people will ALWAYS remember the entertainment......good or bad. And you know what they say....you always get what you pay for.

Why is it an additional charge to stay after the performance?
A little thing called "time-cost opportunity." We usually book several shows in one night. It is necessary to compensate the dancer for the time that she is not able to book another gig if she is to remain at your event whether she is performing or not. It is important to make sure you are ready for your performance at the agreed time so that she can adhere to her strict performance line-up. Remember, you are paying for years of dance training, professional attitude, expensive costumes, extensive choreography and practice, music, make up and hair preparation, driving time, gas, mileage and basic business operating expenses.
