  
Russian dancer Yuriy Vodolaga from New York City
Yuri Vodolaga trained at the Kiev Academy of Classical Ballet.
As a principal dancer, he danced with the Kiev Theatre of Classical Ballet, Antwerp Classical Ballet,
Polish Ballet Theatre, St. Petersburg Conservatory of Classical Ballet,
Kiev State Theatre, and Odessa State Theatre as well as in the US with Egelevsky Ballet,
Staten Island Ballet, Tulsa Opera Ballet and New York City Opera Ballet.

Yuri Vodolaga's principal roles include: Le Corsaire (Solor), La Bayadere (Golden Idol), Nutcracker (Prince, Cavalier), Sleeping Beauty (Prince, Blue Bird), Giselle (Albrecht, Pas de Deux), Don Quixote (Basil), Swan Lake (Prince, Peasant Pas de Deux) and Cinderella (Prince).
Yuri graduated from the St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory with a Masters degree in teaching and choreography. He has extensive teaching experience both in Russia as well as in the US where he was guest teacher with San Francisco Ballet, Baton Rouge Ballet, Connecticut Ballet and Egelevsky American Theatre Dance. Many of his students perform in major ballet companies worldwide including American Ballet Theatre and New York City Ballet.

RUSSIAN DANCE
First official record of Russian dancing is related to year 907 when Great Russian Prince Oleg (Vechshiy Oleg) celebrated his victory over Greeks in Kiev. During the Gala Dinner 16 male dancers dressed as bears and four bears dressed as Russian dancers performed for the guests. After the dinner was over Great Prince commanded to release the bears into the wild and to execute all the dancers.
As it became clear later on, Vechshiy Oleg, who was purblind, has mistaken the dancers for the ambassadors from the Northern Tribes (Severyane) who owned him a few hundred skins of marten - Russian tiger-cat...
