Russian ballet dancer Elena Malinina from Montreal, Canada
Elena Malinina was born in the Latvia (Balka). She studied and graduated from the famous Bolshoi Academy in Moscow. Olena (Russian: Елена Малинина) has been a principal dancer with the Odessa Opera, Ballet Theatre of Ukraine, Moscow City Ballet (Russia), Ontario Ballet (Canada), Albany Berkshire Ballet and Brighton Ballet (USA). She has danced such roles as Paquita, Don Quixote, La Bayadere, Giselle, Les Sylphides, Dying Swan, Sleeping Beauty and Nutcracker. In 1996 she received the Diploma Award at the prestigous Serge Lifare International Competition in Kiev. After touring throughout Europe and North America, Elena Malinina now dances with Ballet Ouest.
