Gennady Gutkin acquired his expertise on Russian bayan growing up in the Soviet Union.
A master player, he won competitions to study at the prestigious Gnessins Institute in Moscow,
and toured with a Ukrainian folklore ensemble and the Kiev Circus.
Gennady Gutkin is active in the New York Russian and Jewish community, performing locally,
at national folk music festivals, at Carnegie Hall, and New York's Jewish Theater solo and with varios groups such as
Barynya, Vasily Romani Gypsy band, Brighton Beach Menestrels.
