Chicago Cossacks - Russian music and song ensemble from IllinoisRussian music and song ensemble CHICAGO COSSACKS from Chicago, Illinois performs Russian, Ukrainian, Cossack, , Jewish, Tsygansky (Russian Gypsy Roma), American oldies, classical music, Italian and world music and songs. Ensemble plays traditional Russian musical instruments such as domra, balalaika and bayan (Russian button accordion). Musical director - Russian and Ukrainian domra and balalaika player Gennady Sergienko. UPCOMING CONCERTSTHE CHICAGO COSSACKS will present a program of Russian, Cossack, Ukrainian and Gypsy traditional dances and songs performed on traditional instruments: domra (Russian mandolin), bayan (Russian button accordion), balalaika. The entertainment includes the English translation of the lyrics and overview and history of Russian folk instruments. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door.
