Balalaika LA - Russian music and dance, Los Angeles, California
Russian traditional dance, music and songs ensemble "Barynya" performed seven shows in Los Angelos, California in January 2011. Formal concert for the South Bay Community Concert Association, Mira Costa High School Auditorium, 1401 Artesia Blvd, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266, two hours concert during Russian dinner at the Tower Club, 300 East Esplanade Drive, Oxnard, CA 93036, and five school assemblies at the Carpenter Community Charter School, 3909 Carpenter Ave, Studio City, CA 91604. Ensemble Barynya cast: Leonid Bruk (contrabass balalaika), Elina Karokhina (balalaika), singer Alexander Menshikov, Mikhail Smirnov (guitar, garmoshka, vocals), dancer Alexander Rudoy, dancer Anna Brovkina and Canary dancers. Dancers, singers, and musicians of Russian dance and music ensemble Barynya are available for hire for the performing art centers, festivals, schools, libraries, concert halls, restaurants, private and corporate events as one powerful ensemble or in smaller groups.
